PORTAGE, Wisc. (May 5, 2010) – A hunting and fishing property that has become a popular destination for corporate retreats will be sold at auction Friday, June 25, according to Albert Burney Auction Company, which will market the property and conduct the auction.

The property -- located near Wisconsin Dells and known locally as the Eagles Nest -- includes a lodge, guest house, and 12 stocked fishing ponds, according to Warren Ward, president of Albert Burney. "Its future will depend on the buyer. It's equally suitable as a vacation home, a private lodge or residence, a church retreat, an outfitter business ," he said.

The 220 acre property has ample hunting opportunities for whitetail deer, turkey, quail, pheasant, and other game. Approximately half wooded and half grassy, it has five miles of hiking trails, a beach volleyball court, and a well maintained athletic field.

The 3,900-square-foot main lodge, scenically located on a fishing pond, has four bedrooms, 5 full baths, a commercial style kitchen with granite countertops and tile flooring, and a large conference room that doubles as a lounge or family room. It also has a 1,450-square-foot guest house.

The current owners, Ultimate Retreats, have agreed to train the new owners and help run the facility during a transitional time if they desire to continue using the property as a retreat. It is booked for retreats through September.

"Because Ultimate Retreats has an established relationship with some of these corporations, they’re offering to pave the way for a smooth transition," said Ward.

Auction representatives will be available on site daily for inspections beginning June 17, and the auction will take place on location June 25.
