CANBY, Ore. -- Albert Burney Auction Company continued its streak of successful auctions along the West Coast Saturday with its sale of approximately 350 acres along the Molalla River in Clackamas County for $2.1 million.
"Nothing beats having some momentum, and we have a lot of that at the moment," said Warren Ward, president of the auction company, which attracted 13 bidders Saturday for the auction of the Oregon land, located along the Molalla River.
"This land had been in the same family for more than 70 years, and based on the interest leading up to the sale, we had been confident that we would have a strong outcome," said Ward. The property sold to two bidders -- one from Boston, Mass., and the other from San Jose, Calif.

CARMEL, Calif. -- Sage Ridge Ranch, a 104-acre ranch with its own citrus grove and vineyard overlooking the Carmel Valley, sold for $1.4 million Saturday, as Alabama-based Albert Burney Auction Company continued its string of successful sales in California's Monterey County area.
"People in this area always seem to respond to an auction of high-quality property, as we've already seen with the sale of Soledad Mountain Ranch in July and today's sale of Sage Ridge," said Warren Ward, president of the auction company.
"The sale of Sage Ridge Ranch exceeded the seller's reserve by 40 percent," said Ward.
In the Sage Ridge Ranch sale on Saturday, the competition came down to two bidders who worked their way up from $1 million to the $1.4 million sale price in increments as small as $25,000.

KERNVILLE, CALIFORNIA – The Kern River Golden Trout Resort sold for $1.26 million Saturday, Oct. 18, in a two-hour auction that pitted buyers seeking to buy the entire resort against others who only sought to purchase part of it. Thirteen bidders gathered on the deck of the 24-room Golden Trout Resort for the auction, with Albert Burney Auction Company managing the sale. After a prolonged bidding contest, the property went to Tice Development LLC, of Bakersfield, Calif., which purchased the entire property.
