Ghost Lake Lodge is one of the oldest historic resorts still in operation in the Hayward Lakes area of Wisconsin. Built on the south shore of Ghost Lake in 1935, Ghost Lake Lodge offers a refuge from the hustle and bustle of city life in the seclusion of the Chequamegon National Forest. It features vintage 1930’s log cabins and a main Lodge with newer lodges along the lake, set among giant hemlock trees on a beautiful private peninsula.

Relax by a crackling fire in one of Ghost Lake Lodge’s ten comfortable rustic log cabins. Or stay in one of the three lodges that offer more updated accommodations like jetted tubs – all located in the Main Lodge. Ghost Lake Lodge also features a Lodge & Bar, a swimming pool, a regulation size tennis court, a Library/Recreation room and sporting equipment like basketballs, horse shoes and shuffle board.

See nature at its very best as you hike along the property’s many trails, fish for the mighty muskellunge in the bronze tinted waters of Ghost Lake, hunt deer or grouse on hundreds of thousands of acres of National Forest land, or just sit and listen to the lonely call of the loons while watching the eagles soar above.

Cabin Descriptions: 

Cabin 3: Thirty feet from the lake, cabin 3 has three bedrooms: two with two twin beds and one with one double and one twin bed.  It also features two full bathrooms , a combined kitchen/living room with futon sofa and fieldstone fireplace and a large screened-in porch. Private pier.  Occupancy 7.

Cabin 5:  Thirty feet from the lake, cabin 5 features two bedrooms: one queen bedroom with a view of the lake and one bedroom with two twin beds. This cabin has one full bath, a combined kitchen/living room with stone gas fireplace, picture windows and a large screened-in porch with a swing. Private pier.  Occupancy  4.

Cabin 10:  Cabin 10 sits about 150’ feet from the lake with a huge screened-in porch.  It features three bedrooms: one with a double bed and the other two with five twin beds between them.  It has one full bath and one half bath, a combined kitchen/living room with futon sofa and wood burning fireplace.  Private pier.  Occupancy 7.

Lodge Description:

Unit 11:  Located in the Lodge, lodge 11 features what we call “rustic luxury.”  It has two bedrooms: one bedroom downstairs with a queen sized bed and one bedroom upstairs with a double and two twin beds. There is an additional twin sized bed in the alcove.  There are two bathrooms: one bath with a jetted tub and shower and twin sinks downstairs and one bath with shower upstairs.  It also has a large kitchen with a separate dining area, a huge living room with futon sofa and stone gas fireplace, and a Satellite TV.  Occupancy 7.

Unit 12: Lodge 12 is Located on the lakeside of the Lodge. It has three bedrooms upstairs: each bedroom has one double bed and one twin bed.  There are two bathrooms: one bath with shower downstairs and one bath with shower upstairs.  The upstairs bath features a jetted tub with skylight.  There is a large kitchen with breakfast bar and separate dining area, a huge living room with gas fireplace,a large wrap-around sofa, and picture windows.  Satellite TV.  Shares the main pier of the Lodge.   Occupancy 9.

Unit14:  Located upstairs in the Lodge, lodge 14 has one great room with one queen bed and one futon.  It features one bath with a shower and a jetted tub with skylight. There is a kitchenette with microwave, sink, refrigerator and dining area.  Satellite TV.  Shares the main pier of the Lodge.   Occupancy 2.

Main House Description:

Main House:  2,600± sq ft, two story log cabin with 4 bedrooms / 3 baths. Currently used as the Owners/Managers house.

Acreage Description:

Land:  28± developable acres with approximately 300± ft of natural lake frontage and bordering National Forest Land.

Sleeping Facility Overview:

Our log cabins are rustic with stone fireplaces. Cabins 0 through 8 are located on the lake shore, while Cabin 10 is set back about 150 feet.

Units 11, 12 & 14 (no #13, that would just be bad luck!) are located in the main Lodge and provide more updated accommodations.

Ghost Lake Lodge does not have phones in the cabins, nor air conditioning. You can expect a clean, rustic, comfortable cabin befitting of this wilderness setting and the kind of vacation adventure that brought you to the Northwoods of Wisconsin in the first place.

Ghost Cabins 0 thru 8 are located along the lake shore, Cabin 10 is set back about 150 feet from the lake.  Units 11, 12, & 14 are located in the Lodge and provide more updated accommodations.

Ghost Lake Lodge is located 22 miles northeast of Hayward, ½ mile north of Highway 77 at the end of N Scheers Road.
